AUS: Parramatta defeats rivals to win 2014 Cup

The Parramatta Blues have came out on top for the second year in a row, winning the Womens Futsal Oz Australian Futsal League Cup.

After a gruelling two days of high-intensity futsal, including 18 games and m any highs and lows, the winner of the 2014 WFAFL Cup came down to a Sydney derby – Sydney Magic and the Parramatta Blues.

Both sides eded their group stages drawn in Group A, with the Magic victorious against the Blues in a narrow 2-1 win.

Before the final, many thought the same result would be in the offing, but the final was a completely different game.

Both teams fought hard for early scoreboard momentum, and it was Parramatta that broke through first, with Fab Perfilio setting up Brooke Cowie for the only goal of the first half.

Two second half goals to Perfilio, and another to Cowie, saw Parramatta run away with a 4-0 win, securing the squad back-to-back Womens FAFL Cups.

The tournament MVP was awarded to Parramatta’s Fab Perfilio, while her team-mate Noran Abaza was handed the Golden Glove. The other individual award was the Golden Boot award which was taken out by Rovers’ Monique Kofoed who scored eight goals.
