Carlton regular turned Ashburton Series Futsal player Stephanie Peluso says she is “excited and nervous” ahead of her first-ever Series Futsal Australia tournament next week.

Peluso, who plays for Carlton in Series Futsal Victoria but has been drafted into the Ashburton squad, will be apart of the seven-team female tournament, with most of Friday and Saturday’s SFA matches to be played at the Melbourne Exhibition and Convention Centre as part of the Arnold Classic.

At the Thomastown Stadium yesterday, Peluso was involved in a photoshoot, joined by two other Series Futsal womens players, as well as two body builders who will feature at the Arnold Classic.

After coming back from injury, Peluso is excited for the three day tournament.

“This is my first Series Futsal Austalia tournament and I am really looking forward to it as i have come back from a knee reconstruction,” she told SeriesFutsal.com.

“Switching from Carlton to Ashburton won’t be as easy. I have played with a couple of the girls in the past, so it might only take me one game to see how they play as a team and what game play they have.

“Playing at the Arnold Classic … the feelings I can express is excitement and nerves This is a great opportunity to be playing in and also a privilege. I am looking forward to it.”
