South Brisbane has defeated reigning champions Parramatta Blues in a closely-fought Womens FAFL Cup in eastern Melbourne.
The Brisbane side took the win over two-time champions Parramatta team 3-2 in an extra time thriller.
South Brisbane’s Natalie Tathem was awarded the prestigious player of the tournament, playing a crucial role in the team’s grand final success.
The final was always going to be an intense match. The teams had met each other in the group stages, with the Blues defeating South Brisbane in a close affair.
The match was played at the brand-new four-court Mount Evelyn Futsal Stadium, run alongside the men’s FAFL Cup.
