International futsal sensation Rico Zulkarnain will play for hometown team Cambio Cumbre in the 2016 Series Futsal Australia Cup, to be held in Perth this October.
The West Australian-based Welsh star has enjoyed an outstanding 2016 season, playing futsal in all corners of the globe, alongside some of the world’s best players.
His 2016 exploits included the Futsal Oz Live event in Melbourne, and now, he is returning to the Perth-based club that helped him secure his status as one of the world’s most exciting players.
Zulkarnain wowed the world with two amazing goals in the last Series Futsal Australia competition, with one of the goals earning millions of online views.
Zulkarnain’s confirmation as a starter for Claremont Cambio Cumbre is a bonus for the champion club, who will look to win three Series Futsal Australia Cup in-a-row.
“Rico is a huge part of the squad,” said team player and spokesperson Gerardo Soto.
“He can come up with a goal at any point in the game from any scenario.
“But probably the most important quality is his mental strength and resilience. When the stakes are high, you need players on the court with his mentality.”
The 2016 Series Futsal Australia will be held at the WA State Futsal Centre on October 7-9.
