AUS: Series Futsal Australia games to be played at Arnold Classic

The March 2017 edition of Series Futsal Australia is set to be one of the most diverse national futsal competitions on record, with a mixture of the best mens and womens teams playing at two venues – including games at the Melbourne Convention Centre as part of the Arnold Classic.

The three day tournament, to be held between March 17-19, will see most womens matches played at the Arnold Classic on Friday and Saturday – an annual multi-sport festival organised by former Mr Olympia, Hollywood star and the governor of California Arnold Schwarzenegger.

Players and spectators might also get the chance to met Schwarzenegger himself!

In addition to the matches at the Arnold Classic, tournament organiser Futsal Oz will host juniors games, as well as free time for guests of the Arnold Classic to sample the great game of futsal.

The schedule for the event is currently being finalised, however, most mens matches and all games on Sunday, including finals, will be played at the Thomastown Futsal Oz Stadium.

Series Futsal Australia invites all of the best futsal clubs from Australia to compete, with 10 mens teams and seven womens teams confirmed for next month’s event.

In the men’s competition, reigning champions Claremont Cambio Cumbre will return to defend its crown, joined by fellow West Australian team and last SFA grand finalists Stirling FC.

A third WA club, Fremantle FC, will make the trek across the country, while three South Australian teams are also confirmed, hoping to secure the state its first Series Futsal Australia title.

Four Series Futsal Victoria clubs will also take to the courts, with Pascoe Vale FC, Hume FC and Fitzroy FC all confirmed. This Friday’s final round of the 2016/17 premiership will confirm whether Balwyn or Brunswick sure the ‘wildcard’ position.
