AUS: Group of death emerges in Series Futsal Australia draw

The live group draw for the 2017 Series Futsal Australia tournament has been held, and for the second year in a row, a clear ‘Group of Death’ has emerged for the eighth mens tournament.

Reigning champions Claremont Cambio Cumbre has been drawn alongside fellow three-time SFA champions Pascoe Vale FC, as well as last year’s grand finalists Stirling FC.

Joining these three powerhouses will be Gepps Cross from Adelaide and Fitzroy FC from Melbourne. Both of these teams have SFA experience, however, have failed to make the finals.

In Group B, the competition will be just as tough, with Victorians FC Balwyn and Hume FC grouped with South Australia squads Unley City and Prospect as well as West Australia’s Fremantle FC.

The women’s tournament will see seven teams compete, including reigning champions and recently crowned SFV winners FC Richmond.

The women’s sees seven competing teams and do not require a group draw.
