AUS: SHOCK! Bley joins Balwyn for Series Futsal Australia

In a move that will shock many Series Futsal pundits, former Pascoe Vale goal keeping hero Felipe Bley will join FC Balwyn for the Series Futsal Australia tournament later this month.

Bley’s signing by Balwyn will see him join the team’s current keeper Steve Castvan.

The combination of Bley and Castvan between the sticks is an outstanding line-up, and added with the club’s recent additions from FC Collingwood, including exciting young star Ben Monteleone, Balwyn is shaping as a formidable Series Futsal Australia force.

Bley played for Pascoe Vale’s youth team in the Foz Cup last night – his last games of futsal in Melbourne before moving to Queensland.

But the lure of a place in Balwyn’s team was too great, and he will return to Melbourne for the March 17-19 tournament.

“Balwyn was a natural choice for me really,” he told SeriesFutsal.com.

“I have great friendship with the coach and the players, and there has always been a great interest from me to play with them.

“It was the only one I would consider, as I will already be interstate and will have to make a trip back to Melbourne just for playing in the tournament.”

Bley says that Balwyn has a terrific opportunity to win the tournament.

“I wouldn’t be playing with them if I didn’t believe they can win, but more than that, I believe in the project they have as a club now with the addition of a few of the Collingwood boys,” he said.

“I feel like with the passion that this group has for the sport, Balwyn will, from now on, build a very solid youth base and add key members to their already very strong men’s squad.

“I believe they are going to become a leading force in Victorian futsal.”
