Brunswick have come out on top against Hume after a low-scoring affair.

Both sides created very little in way of chances in the first half, with Brunswick’s single goal coming from one of the few shots on target in the first half.

Hume equalised mid-way. through the second half through Nejdet Sahin after a slick give and go with Muhammed Temel put him through on goal.

Hume were unable to capitalise on their momentum though, with Brunswick gaining a strange hold on the game with two goals, including a clever back heel goal from Ruz Roslan.

Brunswick held on for the three points to make it two wins from two, while Hume remain pointless.

Metropolitan FC 1-7 Fitzroy FC

Fitzroy have comfortably dispatched of Metropolitan to claim their first win of the season.

The game was all-but over by half-time as Fitzroy blitzed Metropolitan with six first half goals.

Metropolitan were improved in the second half, but the Fitzroy players knew they had the game wrapped up and were happy to sit and absorb Metro’s pressure as they worked towards an unlikely comeback, which they did not manage to make.

Corey Sewell was ultra-impressive in his Fitzroy debut, scoring twice and making another three.

Western Wolves FC 2-7 FC Carlton Heart

FC Carlton Heart have put in a stellar performance to convincingly beat last season’s runners’ up Western Wolves.

The Heart got off to a flying start, scoring three early goals in the first half, putting them in a promising position.

But the Wolves managed to pull two goals back through Tiema Couliabaly to make things interesting at the half-time break.

However, Carlton blew the Wolves away in the second half, scoring four goals without reply.

Abdirazak Ahmed starred for the Heart, completing his hat-trick from the ten-metre spot with the last meaningful kick of the game.

FC Balwyn 3-15 Pascoe Vale FC

Pascoe Vale have eased past strugglers Balwyn with an emphatic 12 goal victory.

Balwyn stunned the 10-time Victorian champions when they scored the opening goal of the game, but all that goal did was wake Pascoe Vale up after they started the game sluggishly.

The Lions quickly found an equaliser and went on to storm past the Stars, scoring five unanswered goals before the half-time break.

It only got worse for the Stars after the break, with Pascoe Vale scoring another ten goals on the way to a comfortable victory.
