Our first game of the evening saw current Champions Fitzroy looking to turn their form around as they took on a Pascoe Vale side looking to bounce back from a heavy defeat last week. A close start to the contest but Fitzroy would strike first as Stacey Papadopoulos found the net, before Elaina Vatcky doubled the advantage with a finish on the turn. Papadopoulos then found the net again to make it 3-0 as the Tigeresses were running away with the game early. A stunning long range effort from Romy Heasly found the top corner, before Em Coppock won the ball of her player and finished to take Fitzroy into the break with a commanding 5-0 lead.

Fitzroy did not let up in the second half as Sarah Richardson got in on the act bagging two goals for herself, while Papadopoulos struck again to complete her hat trick as well as Coppock completing her brace and Dharma Georgi getting on the scoresheet as Fitzroy took home a much needed with while keeping Pascoe Vale scoreless.

Northcote FC 3-10 Moreland FC

Next up saw Northcote face a Moreland side who were starting to find their feet. Moreland opened the scoring through a fantastic strike from Claudia Fruscalzo giving her side the lead. Northcote hit back through Candice Koranias to bring her side level, before Claudia Dimasi found the back of the net to put Northcote ahead for the first time on the night. Moreland hit straight back from the resulting kick off as Jessica Au netted to restore parody. Late in the half Emma Hubbard got her first of the contest to put Moreland ahead as they carried a slender 3-2 lead into the half time break.

Moreland ran away with it in the second half as Emma Hubbard added the first three goals of the half to take her tally to four for the game, with Jessica Au bagging two late goals to complete her hat trick as well as another couple of strikes from Fruscalzo & Ebru Hasan sealed another emphatic win for Moreland as they climb off the bottom of the table.

Westside FC 4-2 FC Carlton Heart

Our final game of the night saw ladder leaders Westside take on second placed Carlton Heart. Westside were on top early and opened the scoring through Pam Demitriou who finished from close range to give her side the lead. They soon doubled the advantage with Christina Fonua firing a rocket into the top corner from range, before Christina Fonua then sent a long ball which found its way into the net to make it 3-0 as Westside were right on top taking a three goal advantage into the half time break.

Carlton wrestled back some momentum in the second half as they limited the Westside attacks and managed to find a goal of their own with Claudia Johns finishing from a corner to keep her side in the contest. Carlton were really pushing to overturn the deficit and struck again through Johns who bundled a ball over the line to have her side with a goal and a real chances of forcing the game to penalties. Carlton then had a chance to draw level as Stefanie Oddo’s strike was saved by Christina Fonua and such is Futsal Westside countered swiftly as Demitriou finished for her second of the game to seal a big win for Westside which puts them further clear at the top, though the win was soured when Captain Christine Fonua was given a second yellow card for time wasting meaning she will miss next weeks clash after a standout display.
