CF South Melbourne 4-3 Melbourne Amazons FC

SOU – W.Kwan-Chislett, A.Idris, N.Italiano & A.Komijat
MEL – C.Friend, R.Alonso & B.Lee

Next up saw ladder leaders South Melbourne take on a strong Melbourne Amazons outfit. It was the Amazons who struck first through Caitlyn Friend to put South on the back foot. Some good work soon after from Friend gave Rachel Alonso a tap in as South were staring defeat in the face for the first time this season. South would halve the deficit when Aneta Komijat found the net but the two goal lead would be restored for the Amazons as Bianca Lee found the net from near on half way. Wai Kwan-Chislett’s deflected effort had South within a goal at the break as they would look to overturn the deficit in the second half.

Soon after the restart, South were level as some lovely play saw Nat Italiano tap home to level the game at three, and South would go ahead through a stunning Amira Idris strike which proved to be the winner as South maintain their unbeaten start to the season, taking down a star studded Melbourne Amazons side.

Player of the game – Julia Sardo (CF South Melbourne)
