Victorian teams competing the Series Futsal Australia have returned home with no Cup, but are quickly refocusing on the task at hand ahead of Round 3 of the competition this Sunday.

Pascoe Vale FC and FC Balwyn both advanced through the group stages and into the semi-finals, where both were knocked out of ahead of the final.

The other two Victoria sides Hume and Fitzroy both had a good chance to reach the semi-finals, but lost their last group stage games, ultimately costing them a finals berth.

With the Australian tournament now out of the road, teams can refocus on Series Futsal Victoria. FC Balwyn manager Gabriel Zeballos says that while his team was gutted to miss a place in the final, he says that they are looking forward to getting back to regular business.

“It was extremely disappointing to get knocked out in the semi finals,” he told SeriesFutsal.com.

“Our team played exceptional futsal, and their determination, focus, guts, and their never-say-die attitude was breathtaking.

“It was a close match (against Claremont Cambio Cumbre) but we just couldn’t get the goal we needed and the rest is history.

“It will be easy to get the team refocused for SFV as we know what we are capable of achieving as a group – We will keep using the momentum we built up from the weekend.

“Our self-belief is that we are good enough not only to match it with the best teams in the league but beat them.”

Gates open at 2pm this Sunday for Series Futsal Victoria, with entertainment, food, prizes and the best futsal in Australia on offer!
