The top spot in the 2016/17 Series Futsal Victoria premiership will be sorted this Sunday when reigning champions Pascoe Vale FC takes on emerging force Hume FC at the Thomastown Futsal Oz Stadium.

After six rounds, both Pascoe Vale and Hume are yet to lose a match, meaning the winner of this one will move to the outright lead with 14 rounds to play.

And with the new ‘no draws’ rules in place this season, fans are guaranteed to see a winner!

While Pascoe Vale’s form can never be quested, it has had a run of losses against Hume in recent months. In fact, Hume hasn’t lost to Pascoe Vale since June.

The vital Round 7 clash will kick off at 5:20pm.

Hume captain Nedjit Sahin expects the game to be played with plenty of feeling.

“It’s definitely going to be match of the round and match of the season so far,” said Sahin.

“It’s a six pointer game and plenty at stake.

“Our plan is simple. Stick to our game plan, give 110 percent and show the Hume spirit. Our tempo will not stop till the final whistle.”

Hume manager Niko Ignatiadis says that sticking to the team’s game plan will be the key factor.

“Its a massive game, but we wont be changing much – just keep doing what we have been doing everyone to do there job work as a team,” he said.

“I’m confident we will still be on top.”

With Hume’s confidence at a high, it will prove to be one of the biggest challenges for the mighty Pascoe Vale side. While the team has remained unbeaten, its team line-up has changed considerably from last season.

Pascoe Vale captain Andre Caro says that he is pleased with the way the new players have gelled and hopes to continue his team’s winning ways.

“These are the type of games that you dream of – the two best sides playing this great sport,” Caro told SeriesFutsal.com.

“Hume has improved so much in the past 12 months. They play as a team and show lots of passion.

“We have had some player changes, so we are still learning, but I think we have done extremely well considering those changes.

“I’m really looking forward to this Sunday. It will be a great match.”
