French freestyle footballer Sean Garnier will give some of his time to the junior players at the Brunswick Futsal Oz Stadium this Saturday ahead of his second Series Futsal match on Sunday.

Garnier, a Red Bull athlete and former world champion freestyle footballer, made a stunning Series Futsal debut for Fitzroy last week, dazzling the crowd with his skills and speed.

Garnier will be at Brunswick between 12-1pm on Saturday and will be available to meet fans.

His Brunswick appearance will be followed by his second appearance for Fitzroy FC, who will take on competition heavyweights FC Balwyn.

The match has been dubbed a ‘Street Fight,’ with freestyler Garnier set to take on Balwyn player and fellow street baller Daniel Cappellaro, as both Cappellaro and Garnier were immortalized in the video console game ‘FIFA Street,’ released in 2012.

Garnier says that Cappellaro was a “pioneer” in the art of street football skills and is looking forward to returning to the Thomastown court.

“Daniel was one of the first people in the world to use street skills in the way we know it today,” Garnier told SeriesFutsal.com.

“He was one of my early inspirations, so to play against him in this match will be special for me.”

Cappellaro says that he is looking forward to the Balwyn/Fitzroy bout.

“I had spoken with Sean a few times over the years, but I had never got the chance to meet him,” Cappellaro explained.

“When he came to Australia this week, we met up and we both agreed that it would be great to play against each other.

“With the way the Series Futsal schedule has worked out, the planets have aligned and it will be great to take to the field against him.”

Gates open at 2pm on Sunday, with the Balwyn/Fitzroy match kicking off at 4pm.

Selected fans will also be invited to compete in the popular ‘Crossbar Cash Challenge’ while other entertainment will keep the crowd entertained all the way through … you can’t miss it!
