With both teams having tough games last week the pressure was on not to slip any further behind RMIT in first place as they fought for second. Tullamarine got ahead early and never looked back. After leading 3-1 at half time they kept the pressure on in the second period and with thanks to a Chris Nguyen hat trick were ran out 3 goal winners to go well clear of 3rd spot on the ladder.

2016/17 State League Two – Round 11:

Futsal Club Wollert (8th) 2-0 (6th) North Melbourne Futsal Club

WOL – D.Barros, J.Sismanes
NM –

Now at the halfway point at the season it was a wake up call for the clubs near the bottom of the ladder to kick into gear to avoid the drop. Wollert took the message head on as they took on North Melbourne who sat 3 points above. They banged in two goals in the first half thanks to David Barros and John Sismanes to take a handy lead into the break. The second half was tough and physical from both teams but with neither managing to score a goal. Both goalkeepers were impressive but John Kikianis was the stand out making numerous saves to maintain his clean sheet in tact all the way to the final whistle.

2016/17 State League Two – Round 11:

Coburg Athletic Futsal Club (7th) 6-3 (4th) FC Prahran (Futsal Club)

COB – T.Rekaris 2, F.Barilla 2, N.Amanatidis, C.Velluto
PRA – A.Redaelli 2, N.Tahsin

In a slow starting first half the match was held at a stalemate for the opening minutes of the first half. Coburg took first blood as two late goals from Rekaris and Barilla gave them a 2-0 lead to the half. The passion was flowing in the second half as both teams were willing to get down and dirty to take the win. Coburg continued where they left the first half as good team play took them further ahead as they looked impressive as they opened up Prahran’s defence. Prahran fought back in the end to put a nice shine on the scoreline but it was a hard fought Coburg win that the boys would be proud of.

2016/17 State League Two – Round 11:

RMIT Football Club (1st) 8-0 (5th) FC Essendon (Futsal Club)

RMIT – R.Serrano 3, V.Marino 2, R.McPhillips, L.Phua, A.Shrestha (OG)
ESS –

RMIT have been blowing the competition away in the last few months and they came up against an Essendon side who would need to pull out something special to get a win. RMIT were prepared from the get go as they controlled the game with good passing and movement. When Essendon did have opportunities RMIT were able to shut them down and counter effectively. 4-0 up at the half RMIT were cruising and the second half was much of the same. Roberto Serrano was at is best again with his rocket left boot being too hard to deal with as he banged in a hat trick. However it was Adrian Logozzo who controlled the game as he was instrumental in assisting and pulling the strings behind the play. RMIT’s big 8-0 win sets them 4 points above Tullamarine and makes it 10 games in a row undefeated.
