street-fighter-squareBalwyn manager Gabriel Zeballos says that his team will not get caught up in the hype of the huge match against Fitzroy FC this Sunday.

Dubbed as the ‘Street Fight’ – featuring Balwyn’s trickster Daniel ‘D10’ Cappellaro and French freestyler Sean Garnier – the game is set to eclipse last week’s record breaking crowd and live stream viewer numbers.

Zeballos says that his team is looking forward to playing on the big stage, and will accept nothing but victory.

“We are looking forward to playing this game in front of a massive crowd. It will be a very entertaining game, one we are not prepared to lose, Zeballos told SeriesFutsal.com.

“Balwyn has been playing well in recent weeks and we need to keep the momentum going.”

With Garnier set for his second Series Futsal appearance, organisers are expecting another bumper crowd for Game Day, but Balwyn isn’t letting the event cloud its premiership aspirations.

“In the context of the season, it is a big game for both clubs regardless on who is playing,” Zeballos told SeriesFutsal.com.

“Both teams are here to win the league and a win over Fitzroy this week will keep us on track to do that.

“Fitzroy is strong, but so are we. As the ladder stands now, we are third and they are fifth and we beat them last time we met. “

Zeballos says that last week’s record-breaking match between Pascoe Vale and Fitzroy was a joy to watch and has nothing but respect for international star Garnier.

“I watched the Pascoe Vale and Fitzroy game live, and it was an incredible atmosphere. The game was tough, fast and played at the highest standards,” he said.

“Sean Garnier has the X-factor, for sure. He is a freak! And he was brilliant both on and off the court – very generous with his time in particular with the kids.

“To have someone of his stature play in our competition is amazing and a sign of how far we have come.”
