Collingwood has received a major boost on the eve of its vital final two games of the 2016/17 Series Futsal Victoria campaign.

Jordan Constan will make his return to the squad, having returned from a four month adventure in the United Kingdom.

It is a major injection for Collingwood, who are fighting tooth-and-nail with Ashburton to survive relegation.

While Constan hasn’t played for the Collingwood club since October, he has kept his feet in the game.

“I’m fresh off the plane, but thankfully I was able to continue playing futsal for London Baku United in the English top tier while I was away,” he told SeriesFutsal.com.

“I’m hoping I’m still sharp enough to bag a few goals in the last few games.”

Constan says that he has kept up-to-date with Collingwood’s progress, and despite the ups-and-downs of the season, the aim is to stay in the top league.

“I tried to stay in touch with all the happenings in the league, though it made for dour reading when I saw anything to do with Collingwood,” he said.

“I’ve stayed in contact with (club captain) Ben Monteleone, and he has assured me that ‘dream do happen’ so with a bit of luck, Collingwood will continue their recent good form.”

Collingwood faces Pascoe Vale tonight, followed by Balwyn next week in what shapes as a tough run home.

Ashburton will play Hume tonight, followed by a blockbusting final match against Metropolitan FC.
