The opportunity to take your futsal team to the top in Series Futsal has grown with the introduction of State League 3 set to debut at the start of the new season next month.

With the thirst for elite-level futsal on the increase, tournament facilitators Futsal Oz has elected to start a new league to join the popular promotion and relegation system.

The addition of League 3, to be held each Wednesday night, will see a change to the games days of each league;

– League 3 (Wednesday)
– League 2 (Wednesday)
– League 1 (Sunday)
– State Championship (Sunday)
– Series Futsal Victoria (Friday)

The elite league system is one of the most competitive structures in this part of the world.

Winners of each league gains instant promotion to the next league, while the team that finishes on the bottom drops to the league below.

And to add further spice, the teams that finish second and third still get a chance to gain promotion as they take on the teams that finish seventh and sixth respectively in the higher league.

Futsal Oz founder and CEO Peter Parthimos is pleased to introduce the new league and notes that the desire to reach the top of futsal in Victoria is at an all time high.

“I’ve never seen so many clubs aiming to be the best at their sport,” Parthimos told SeriesFutsal.com.

“The reason for the popularity of these leagues is quite simple for me. Managers and players can see the carrot at the end (Series Futsal), and everyone wants to play in front of the crowds, they want to be seen on the live stream, they want to be in control of their own destiny.

“And the promotion/relegation system is one of the best formats. It’s a simple process – if you have a good season, you stay in your league. If you have a great season, you move up, and if you have a bad season, you go down. There’s lots to play for and it makes every game like a grand final.”

The final round of this season’s elite leagues are one game from the conclusion of the season. In League 2, RMIT FC has already secured victory, while League 1’s Hampton FC is almost certain to be promoted unless it suffers a 12 goal-or-more loss to Doncaster FC.

In the State Championships, FC Carlton has already won its way through to Series Futsal Victoria after enjoying an unbeaten run of 19 games.
