MON – D.Langdale 1 & A.Hakim 1
MICK – S.Tapia 2, M.Petrovic 1, T.Stalevski 1 & N.Long 1

The first game of round two saw two top four sides lock horns. Monash was looking to prove a point against heavyweights Mickleham and got off to the better start opening the scoring through Daniel Langdale. Mickleham soon hit back through Tony Stalevski to level the scores, But a moment of magic from Ahmed Hakim saw his wonder goal have Monash ahead at the break.

Mickleham came alive in the second half and on the back of a double from Sergio Tapia hit four unanswered goals to come from behind and take home three valuable points against what looks to be a title rival. As for Monash they were far from disgraced and will take a lot of positives from this defeat.

2017 State League Championship – Round 2:

Collingwood Futsal Club (1st) 5-3 (5th) Brimbank Futsal Club

COLL – T.Sadler 2, A.Badawy 2 & C.Holmes 1
BRIM – S.Haidari 2 & A.Hanifi 1

Coming off their massive upset last week Collingwood were looking to continue its fast start to the season taking on tricky opponents Brimbank. Never an easy beat Brimbank showed they have what it takes to compete with the best racing to a 3-1 lead going into half time having Collingwood on the back foot.

Collingwood came out of the break a different side as Cameron Holmes pulled one back early in the piece to keep his side in it. It took until eight minutes remaining before a cracker from Tremayne Sadler found the back of the net to have his side level. The hero last week Sadler backed up his efforts as he found himself one on one converting the goal to put his side in front. Some great work from Holmes late on saw him set up Badawy to seal the three points and go two and two to start the season. While for Brimbank they have suffered two narrow defeats and one can only imagine their first win is not too far away.

Man of the match – Tremayne Sadler (FC Collingwood)

2017 State League Championship – Round 2:

Moreland Futsal Club (8th) 9-1 (7th) Mcleod Futsal Club

MOR – A.Cooper 4, S.Karanfil 2, S.Sefil 1 M.Barrigos 1 & B.Sahin 1
MCL – K.Fayazi 1

After all the hype of last week Moreland crashed and burned in its opening day loss to Collingwood, Anything less than three points would be catastrophic. It began a little cagey for the Blues against a physical Mcleod side but Moreland found its way through progressing to 3-0 at the half time break courtesy of a double from Adam Cooper.

The second half was one way traffic as Mcleod struggled to keep up with Moreland who looked to be finding its Mojo, Banging in six goals to one in the second half and running out convincing 9-1 winners showing what we expected from this star studded Moreland side.

Man of the match – Adam Cooper (Moreland FC)

2017 State League Championship – Round 2:

Ashburton Futsal Club (3rd) 6-11 (6th) Hampton Street Futsal Club

ASH – I.Hani 2, T.Shafei 2, R.Bahmani 1 & M.Shafei 1
HAM – O.Hummenyj-Jamieson 3, T.Topali 3, A.Sahiti 2, Z.Bailey 1, D.Grecea 1, & M.Lettini 1

The final game of the round saw recently relegated Series Futsal side Ashburton take on up and coming Hampton. After suffering a narrow defeat last week at the hands of Monash, Hampton looked keen to bounce back and made a clear statement early on going on a scoring spree in the first half banging in eight goals to three thanks for a hat trick from Orien Hummenyj-Jamieson.

The second half was much closer but Hampton looked in control until the final moments of the game as the second half finished three all, but it would not be enough for Ashburton as they were crushed 11-6 and have a lot of work to do if they are to earn back their place in Series Futsal. As for Hampton there are many positive signs and the only way looks up for this determined club.
