The first game of round four was a top of the table clash between Hampton and Mickleham. In what was a cagey first half, Mickleham struck first through Hayden Razbocan before Hampton stopper Nick Dean notorious for his goalscoring smashed in a thumping effort from half way to have the scores level at half time.

Mickleham started the second half on the front foot with a strike through new recruit Nathan Long who is settling in nicely in Mickleham colours and gave his side a 2-1 advantage. Hampton would again respond as Rueban Langerak struck to level the scores at 2-2 late on. In the final seconds of the game there was controversy as a side ball was struck at goal by Michael Lettini which was deemed to have taken a touch and found the back of the net to give Hampton all three points in what proved a fiery affair.

Second game of the night was a big one as both sides were aiming for victory to keep pace with the top three. Collingwood were again without star man Tremayne Sadler but were busy in the dying stages of the transfer market bringing in David Filonzi and Mark Borchert. The latter proved a key inclusion bagging a first half goal to give his side a slender lead at the break.

Borchert continued his good start to life at Collingwood striking home yet another quality goal to double his sides advantage. A stunning strike from Monash leader Ahmed Hakim kept his side in the contest. It wasn’t to be though as Cameron Holmes cut inside to his left foot and put it away to seal a big three points pushing his side in the right direction.

MOR – M.Vragovski 2, A.Cooper 1 M.Barrigos 1 & X.Torres 1

The next game on the card saw Ashburton take on powerhouse Moreland. With Moreland being the heavy Favourites it did not deter Ashburton as they raced out to a 2-0 lead thanks to goals from Rasoul Bahmani & Mehran Shafiei. Some lovely play between Xavi Torres & Adam Cooper saw the latter convert to keep the game tight going into half time 2-1 in favour of Ashburton.

Moreland came out of the blocks on the front foot and found the equaliser early on through Matthew Vragovski. It was going goal for goal as Ashburton again hit the lead through Teymour Shafiei. A quiet game by his standards but Miguel Barrigos showed up when his team needed him scoring a ridiculous volley from a tight angle. But again Ashburton had an answer as a goal bound shot was turned in by Rasoul Bahmani to make it 4-3. Moreland stepped up the intensity and found their third equaliser of the game through some lovely interplay between Xavi and Vragovski, as Vragovski finished off the move to level the scores at 4-4. Moreland would then find the crucial winner thanks to a fantastic pass from Adam Cooper which was finished off by Xavi to seal a hard fought win for Moreland who were pushed to their limit by an Ashburton side who look on the up after a slow start to the season.
