Metropolitan FC legend Tomislav Grgic will become the second player in Series Futsal Victoria history to rack up 300 games in his team’s clash against FC Balwyn this evening.

Following on from his fellow Metropolitan team-mate and 300-plus gamer Alija Redzepovic, Grgic began his V-League/Series Futsal career in the early seasons of the competition 11 years ago and has played for three teams – Ashburton FC, Pascoe Vale FC and Metropolitan.

It is at Metropolitan that he has played for the majority of his games, amassing a total of 244 goals and 107 assists.

Series Futsal CEO Peter Parthimos paid tribute to Grgic ahead of his 300th game in the league.

“Grgic is a real warrior and a great addition to the league,” Parthimos said.

“He is one of the backbones of his club, and the reason why Metropolitan has survived at the top level for so many years.

“I’d like to personally congratulate him on reaching this milestone and I hope he can continue on for many more seasons.”

Team-mate Dino Redzepovic, who will be the next player to reach the magic 300 game milestone says that Grgic is a player that he looks up to.

“Tomo is the best team-mate anyone can ask for. He is the example of what a team-mate should be,” Redzepovic told SeriesFutsal.com.

“He always puts the team ahead of himself, he is always committed and always giving 100 percent.

“Personally I have learnt so much from him and look forward to many more games together.”
