MON – G.Cummins 2, A.Koraishi & N.Ormond 1
BRIM – Z.Hassani 3 & S.Haidari 2

Our first clash of round six saw Monash taking on Brimbank as both sides had shown promise of climbing up the table. It was Monash who opened the scoring through Nic Ormond in his first game back finishing on the turn. Brimbank levelled through Shams Haidari before Ali Koraishi restored the Monash advantage going into the half time break.

Brimbank came out of the second half a different side and banged in four unanswered goals to take a 5-2 lead. Monash then turned to the fifth man tactic which saw them pull two goals back but they fell just short as Brimbank took home three precious points.

HAM – O.Hummenyj-Jameson 2, D.Grecea 2, R.Langerak, T.Topali, M.Lettini
COL – A.Meibusch, D.Filonzi, R.Langerak (OG)

The next clash of the night saw Hampton take on Collingwood as both sides looked to sure up a top four place. Hampton raced out to a 4-0 lead on the back of a double from Orien Hummenyj-Jamieson and singles to Daniel Grecea and Reuben Langerak put Hampton in a very good position come half time.

Collingwood put up more of a fight in the second half and the half finished at three goals a piece, but Hampton’s first half heroics was enough to seal them three points and jump into second place for the time being.

Mickleham Futsal Club (2nd) 2-5 (1st) Moreland Futsal Club

MICK – A.Boras, M.Vragovski OG
MOR – M.Vragovski, A.Cooper, S.Karanfil, S.Sefil, X.Torres

Next up was the top of the table clash between Mickleham and Moreland with the winner to go the points clear at the top of the State League. Moreland struck early on through Matthew Vragovski who opened the scoring from a tight angle. Before Adam Cooper drifted through the middle of the court slotting it home on his left foot into the bottom corner. Some lovely work down the left flank from Selim Karanfil saw him find himself one on one with the keeper before finishing to give Moreland a comprehensive 3-0 half time lead.

Mickleham came out of half time looking to respond and did just that pulling one back from a corner thanks to a nifty finish by Anthony Boras keeping Mickleham in the contest. Moreland just had too much class though as Salih Sefil finished one on one before Xavi Torres worked the ball around the defence before putting it home for a 5-1 lead. A late own goal off the head of Vragovski just a blip on the radar as Moreland go three points clear at the top of the table after six rounds.
