MORELAND FC BLUES 7 – 2 CF BALWYN BULLS
Moreland have all but saved their season with a crucial win over Balwyn in the context of the relegation battle.
Moreland were three points off their opponents going into the game with a vastly inferior goal difference, so a win was crucial in keeping their head above water.
The Blues flew out of the blocks, with Dean Lockhart scoring two early goals, before Balwyn hit back with two first half goals of their own to level the scoring,
Moreland managed to regain the lead before the half time break, courtesy of a Jason Barrientos goal.
Moreland started the second half the same way they started the first, with a flurry of goals that helped them open up a comfortable lead, with the pick of the goals coming from Shayan Alinejad, who hit a spending volley through the crowd.
The Blues eventually strolled to a comfortable 7-2 victory to start the new year with a win in what their president Deren Saban called their “grand final” during the week.

CARLTON HEART 10 – 1 CF BRUNSWICK CHIEFS
Carlton Heart have put on absolute clinic against Brunswick in a game they had full control of from start to finish.
The Heart played with high intensity in the opening stages of the game, setting the tone for the rest of the match.
Carlton took a convincing 4-1 lead into the half-time break, with Brunswick doing their best to keep in touch with their opponents.
However the second half proved be an even bigger onslaught, with Carlton bagging a further six goals without conceding.
It was a masterclass display of offence and defence that kept the game well out of reach for Brunswick.
Chaaban Rajab was sublime in leading the way for his team, scoring twice and laying off one assist.

WESTERN WOLVES FC 6 – 3 HUME FC BLACK ARMY
Western Wolves have come out on top in what was a physical affair against Hume, ultimately overrunning their opponents after a 
tight first two thirds of the game.
The first half was surprisingly low-scoring for a game involving the Wolves, the highest scorers in the league, with the majority of the game being played in the midfield.
The Wolves took a slender 2-1 lead into the break, with Elvis Kamsoba starring with a goal and an assist.
The second half was much more open than the first, but not before a cagey period that saw three yellow cards and very little in attacking dynamism.
The Wolves eventually broke free from Hume’s shackles and got out to a 6-2 lead, with Kamsoba once again starring, replicating his first half statistics one goal and one assist.
Hume managed to score a late consolation, but it was left too little too late as the Wolves held on for a crucial victory that sees them temporarily move up to second place, surpassing Fitzroy on goal difference.

PASCOE VALE FC LIONS 4 – 1 FITZROY FC TIGERS
Pascoe Vale finessed and outclassed Fitzroy on their way to what could prove to be a very important win in deciding where they 
finish this season.
It was a quick and lethal first half that saw Pascoe Vale put away three goals that took Fitzroy by surprise.
Fitzroy attempted to put the slow start behind them but weren’t able to capitalise on their limited chances in the first half.
The second half was a much tighter contest, with both sides scoring a goal a-piece. Unfortunately for Fitzroy, that goal was a mere consolation as they dropped costly points lost that sees them drop out of the Series Futsal Australia places.
Lucas Vaz was clinical with his touches, scoring a goal in each half including the game sealer with only minutes remaining.
