David Barra:
After a quality start to the match, it was Carlton keeper David Barra’s fantastic second half performance that kept his side from conceding crucial goals from a motivated Regent side. His quality keeping and athleticism proved him to be worthy of a selection into the squad.
Atay Ibrahim:
Whilst his Moreland side showed their quality to turn a 2-1 deficit against Altona into a 9-3 win, Atay Ibrahim proved to be the driving force as he snatched a hattrick of fantastic finishes. After being faced against Altona’s star goalkeeper Frano Saric and thriving under the pressure, Ibrahim undoubtedly made his claim to enter the squad.
Joao Da Silva:
With his side trailing 1-0 at half time to a game Campbellfield team, Joao Da Silva quite literally put his beloved Pascoe Vale on his back and carried them to a 6-1 victory. With one assist and five fine goals under his belt, Da Silva is quite clearly the stand-out player of the round, classifying him as a necessity to the team of the week lineup.
Melvin Becket:
After his side fell to Fitzroy 4-1 in the first half, Wolves were in need of natural flair and a finishing touch to overturn the deficit, and that’s exactly what Melvin Becket provided. As he notched a crucial hattrick at an important time of the match, Becket put on a show for the loud fans whilst collecting himself a team of the week selection in the process.
Lokmen Ramadan:
It was none-other than Wolves’ man up front Lokmen Ramadan who proved to be a menace against a quick Fitzroy side as he utilized his size and strength to his advantage throughout the game. A clinical finishing display allowed Ramadan to retrieve a hattrick much like teammate Becket, as the two players find themselves in the same team of the week.
