Last week he was looking to become the man to finish the season between the sticks for Pascoe Vale, but this week Mohammed Feteiha finds himself unexpectedly exiting the club.

Previously an out of favour option in Pascoe Vale’s goalkeeping stocks, Mohammed Feteiha was believed to finally have had his chance to shine as first team stopper Aaron Yu suffered a ruptured achilles whilst facing Campbellfield in Round 18.

Feteiha took to the court early in the first half to replace his fellow goalkeeper and friend and didn’t disappoint as he found himself conceding only once in the form of an own goal. It was a relatively impressive display, but what transpired after wasn’t what was predicted.

With Pascoe Vale prepared to offer Feteiha a first-team role with minimal rotation’s between himself and new second keeper Erik Lay, ‘Moey’ opted out of finishing the season with the lions.

After deciding to cut ties with the league leaders it is still unknown as to why exactly he showed himself the door.

Once news of Yu’s injury was revealed to the public, a flurry of confidence was shown for Feteiha as supporters made it known that they believed he could help take Pascoe Vale over the line.

Fans will undoubtedly be shocked and confused, as Carlton Heart player Chaaban Rajab stated, ‘Moey DW has this covered’ whilst teammate Abdirizak Ahmed proclaimed, ‘Moey will win the league, I don’t care what anyone and their dog says’.

With Moreland FC sitting second on the ladder just 3 points behind Pascoe Vale, manager Paul Vidic is backing himself to make the crucial decisions to take his side to their first league title in six seasons.
