The second match up of Round One of Series Futsal Victoria saw last seasons Champions in Pascoe Vale take on Metropolitan, who narrowly avoided relegation at the end of last season. The score was opened early on into the game when Leonardo Correa showed some quick feet to beat his player before finishing across Digby into the bottom left corner. Soon after Thiago Martins beat his defender down the right before toe poking into the left side of the goal. Metro were struggling to create chances as Pascoe stopped Felipe Bley was keeping them at bay with yet another strong showing in goals. Having only scored two goals Pascoe went into half time in a strong position.
The second half was similar to the first as it was Pascoe Vale commanding possession and creating the brunt of the chances. Sofiane Soufi then found Richard Ferguson from a free kick and Ferguson showed the composure to back heel past Digby. Metropolitan grabbed one back through Alija Redzepovic as he was found from a side ball to tap home from close range and this seemed to spark some life into the Metropolitan side as they began to create more chances. However, Bley was his commanding best as he saved multiple efforts from Metro to keep them at bay. This allowed for Pascoe to break forward on the counter, and Martins added two goals late on to put the game beyond any doubt. Late in the game, an on court incident resulted in Correa being sent off, but it mattered little as Pascoe Vale started their campaign with a win.
