Metro finally got on the score sheet through Tomislav Grgic, and soon added another when Alex Cobo converted a penalty to have his side only two behind heading into the break.
The second half started with Metro being awarded another penalty after Peter Tamburrino brought down Alija Redzepovic in the area. Cobo promptly converted once again and Metro were right back in it. Soon after however, Pascoe responded when Covurrabias was found inside the area for a simple finish to restore Pascoe’s two goal lead. Covurrabias then found Richard Ferguson with a chipped ball over the top, and Ferguson smashed the ball home on the volley through Bicer’s legs. Two goals in quick succession from Dino Redzepovic then saw Metro only one goal behind once again, threatening to make Pascoe wait another week for their title celebration. Up stepped Ferguson again, however, toe poking past Bicer from just outside the area to wrap up Pascoe Vale’s successful title defence.
