Recap
Pascoe Vale was again expected to win their Series Futsal game and again they did. Brunswick have looked good in recent weeks but beating Pascoe Vale is a difficult task.
The first half was a tight contest between the two teams as they felt each other out. Some massive efforts from Richard Furguson and a goal of the season contender from Andre Caro are what kept Pascoe Vale ahead. With Brunswick failing to take their chances Pascoe Vale looked ominous as they threatened to blow away their opposition. Despite the pressure they continued to apply to Brunswick, Brunswick found a way to respond and just before the half time buzzer blew Brunswick managed to find the back of the net themselves through a good strike by Ben Rigby. The halftime score showed a close game with Brunswick only one goal behind Pascoe Vale at two goals to one.
Despite the close nature of the first half Pascoe Vale where able to step it up a notch coming into the second half. With quick goals coming via Rodrigo Covarrubias and Andre Caro again tucking away a nice goal the game looked in dire circumstances for Brunswick. The pressure from Pascoe Vale didn’t stop as Covarrubias managed to score another three goals for the half and Joao Da Silva finding himself two goals. The only highlight of the second half for Brunswick was a late goal to Clint Mogoai.
As each week goes by it’s looking harder and harder to beat the ever dominant Pascoe Vale. Whilst Brunswick struggled against the pressure of the best.
