Recap
After a slow start to the season Balwyn have found their feet in the last two weeks with big wins against Ashburton and Fitzroy they will be expecting to make it three in a row against the struggling Metro.
The game started as expected with the favorites scoring early in only five minutes with a quality goal coming from captain Michele Giotta. This goal put the pressure firmly on Metro to respond. Something they have failed to do in recent weeks. They managed to quickly break this trend though as they went on to score an early equalizer and bring themselves back into the game. Following this goal the game became an arm wrestle with both teams struggling to find the back of the net; until Balwyn again broke the deadlock to get in front. Scoring a goal which gave them the momentum. They took this and scored twice more quickly. Following the domination Balwyn went into the half with a comfortable three goal lead.
The break proved as a game changer for Metro who came out looking the hungrier team and quickly took this momentum and scored a goal. The response from Balwyn was poor as they began to sink into the bad habits of the first two weeks of the season. This allowed Metro some opportunists but the lack of experience saw these opportunities wasted. With the pressure firmly on Balwyn they needed someone to step up; enter Daniel Cappellaro back in his number 10 he brought some of his best Futsal putting in a game changing five minutes that included a great goal and some solid defending. This burst proved too much for Metro who where unable to close the gap again. Balwyn ran out winners in a scrappy game. Six goals to four.
