Recap
Fitzroy come into the game in great form after three wins in a row. They have fought their way back up to third on the table. Pascoe Vale remain first as the team to beat.
The game started with the ladder leaders striking fast. A goal after only one minute left Fitzroy stunned. The Pascoe Vale team came out looking hungrier and where much better prepared for the massive contest. It was obvious that Pascoe Vale where the more well prepared team as they managed to hammer home a second early goal to give themselves a two goal buffer. The situation looked dire for Fitzroy as their grip on the game was slipping. Pascoe Vale again sliced through the Fitzroy defence to open up a three goal lead. This was the catalyst for Fitzroy to switch on and they did in style. Responding quickly to the third Pascoe Vale goal with a quick goal of their own. The half time scoreline saw Pascoe Vale hold a two goal lead.
The second half was a totally different story to the first as it started with Fitzroy dominating the possession and scoring a quick goal to find themselves only a single goal behind. As quickly as this happened however Pascoe Vale struck back to reestablish their half time lead. The tension began to rise as the half ticked on with players clashing all across the court. Pascoe Vale where obviously becoming frustrated with their opposition giving away a fifth and sixth foul to put their goal keeper Filipe Bley under pressure. Bley however responded brilliantly managing to block a powerful shot from Fitzroy gun Rico Zulkarnian. This wasn’t the end of Bley’s contribution as his supernatural keeping kept Pascoe Vale ahead in the tight contest. Every goal that Fitzroy did manage to get past Bley was quickly responded to by Pascoe Vale. The two goal lead proved to be enough and Pascoe ran out winners in one of the most exciting games in Series Futsal history.
