It was the old firm at Metropolitan Futsal Club that gave them the spark to overcome second placed Hume with club veterans Oscar Margina and Tomislav Grgic bringing their very best to push their club past the title challengers.

It was not all Metro’s way though as Hume looked in control for most of the first half opening up a three goal lead and going into half time two goals to the good.

With the team looking set for another loss Grgic stepped up with some fantastic defensive efforts and fast breaks willing himself to push all the way with each attack and giving his team some hope. Margiana followed the lead of Grgic and put in a man of the match performance to get his team over the line.

The win is huge for the battling Metro who now look safe from bottom place as the race to the finish line heats up.

Hume looked favourites as they came into the match. The current second placed Hume hoped for an easy win to give them an opportunity at making up ground on ladder leaders Pascoe Vale. The disappointment could be felt as the final buzzer sounded signalling a heart breaking loss for the in form team.
