That did not look like it was going to be the case early on, as the Wolves came out looking the stronger team, and they took a two goal to nil lead into the half-time break.

Fitzroy came out rejuvenated in the second half, scoring seven goals to two in the half to overpower a Wolves side that did not seem to have the answers for the first time this season.

The Wolves were dealt a blow mid-way into the second half when star anchor Tiema Couliabaly was forced off with an ankle injury.
