Pascoe Vale have beaten Balwyn on penalties after a tight encounter between the two sides.

Josh Sasic gave Balwyn the lead in the first half, and no more goals were scored before the break.

Andre Caro equalised for Pascoe Vale in the second half, and Pascoe Vale did their utmost to capitalise on their momentum, raining down a barrage of shots on the Balwyn goal, but Balwyn keeper Steve Castvan was equal to the task on every occasion.

The scorers were not troubled again before the full time whistle ended regular time, and the game went to a penalty shootout.

After both sides scored one and missed one of their first two penalties, Giovanni Garcia missed the third Balwyn penalty, leaving Lucas Vaz with a chance to win it for Pascoe Vale with his spot kick.

Vaz kept his cool, making no mistake from the penalty spot to give Pascoe Vale a much needed win.
