Recap
Preston FC Women have claimed their first win in their brief history, getting up over Balwyn with an impressive all-round performance.
Preston effectively won the game in the first half when they raced out to a surprise four-nil lead, a lead that they held until the half-time break.
Balwyn were the better side in the second half as Preston looked to have rested on their laurels, but they did enough defensively to hold off Balwyn for the most part, only allowing the Blues to hit the back of the net twice.
Preston’s women became the first team out of their men, women and youth to win a game this season, perhaps setting a tone for what’s to come at all levels for the club.
Player of the Game: Maneesha Patterson (Preston FC Women)
