Recap
The next game pitted second placed Fitzroy against bottom of the table Preston United. Coming off the back of a shock defeat at the weekend to Carlton, They would be looking to bounce back. Bounce back they did as they never let Preston into the game with Dharma Georgi the star of the first half bagging four goals in her sides run of nine unanswered leading 9-0 at the half time break.
With the game seemingly over it did give Fitzroy the chance to experiment a little with their style which in turn opened up a few gaps in the defence seeing Preston United Pull back two goals through Taylor Halabi and Kelly Boogas as consolations. But it was Fitzroy’s day as star of the show Georgi added another three to take her tally to seven, along with a wide spread of goal scorers. It was just the reply Fitzroy needed as they hold on to second place and give their goal difference a healthy booster.
Player of the game – Dharma Georgi (Fitzroy FC)
