Recap
The final game of the evening saw Carlton take on Moreland looking to continue its form resurgence. Moreland having suffered three straight defeats needed to take home three points to keep an SFA run alive. Moreland drew first blood with Melissa Missailidis cut it back for Rebecca Saber to finish at the back post. Carlton would turn it around though as Claudia Johns strike took a deflection and found the back of the net via an own goal to Anna Peers-Barlow. Immediately after a time out, Carlton were ahead as Rebecca Davies continued her fine form lashing in an effort from distance before Morgan Kirk-Eaton poked an effort home to give Carlton a 3-1 lead going into half time.
The second half was a case of Carlton hanging on to what they had while Moreland held possession looking for a way back into the contest. Some lovely interplay from Carlton saw Davies fire home her second of the game to make it 4-1 and despite all of Moreland’s possession could not find a way back into the contest with Carlton claiming its second big scalp in a matter of days and showing the league they are not here to make up the numbers.
