The final game of the evening saw defending champions Moreland FC looking to break a four game losing streak as they faced an ever improving FC Balwyn side. The early exchanges were tight, and nervy as neither side looked like they wanted to concede. It took an error from Moreland which saw Rachel Hurlimann find the opening goal finishing from the right hand side to open the scoring. The lead lasted about 5 seconds at most as from the resulting kick off Daniella Galluccio hit a rocket past Zoe Lavatt and just like that the sides were on level terms. Some great work playing as a target from Anna Peers-Barlow saw the youngster give Moreland the lead going into the half time break.

The second half was a different affair with Balwyn bossing the possession but creating very little clear cut chances to score, with Moreland happy to defend what they already had. In took until the half way point of the half for Moreland to extend their lead when Amy Kane had two bites of the cherry before finishing to make it 3-1. They managed to see out the victory from their as the champions got a much needed victory as they look to get their season back on track.
