Recap
The next game on the card was the game of the night which saw old rivals Pascoe Vale and Fitzroy lock horns with three points a must for both sides. It was Pascoe who struck first when a well timed lay off from Zarli Vandenberg saw Marcela Marques finish into the bottom corner for the lead. It didn’t take long for Pascoe to double their advantage with Tessa Langton finishing a rebounded effort. With Fitzroy on the back foot they needed to respond, and a thumping strike from Ili Jakab looked just what they needed to spark a come back, going into half time trailing 2-1.
The second half saw Fitzroy dominate possession and chances with Pascoe happy to hold their shape and hit their opponents on the counter attack. Despite a number of chances going begging for Fitzroy, Pascoe managed to weather the storm and even got one more goal in only seconds remaining on the clock as Anita Odd pounced on a mistake from Fitzroy to seal all three points in a massive win for Pascoe Vale which takes them to within three points of their rivals.
