The first edition of the Preston derby saw Preston FC heavy favourites to get the job done over United. In the early stages it was Preston FC doing their best to break down a stubborn United defence. The lines were breached though and from there the floodgates opened. Preston banged in five unanswered first half goals a double from Pam Demitriou and singles to Maneesha Patterson, Kayana Carvalho and right on the half time whistle Stacey Papadopoulos who rounded out the half on a high.

The scoring continued for Preston FC in the second as United seemed to have no answers. A second half hat trick from Thomay Nicoloau set the tone, before Stacey Papadopoulos doubled her tally and Pam Demetriou completed her hat trick, before adding a fourth and as Preston FC ran out comprehensive 11-0 victors.
