Recap
The second game of the night saw Pascoe Vale who sat in third place take on seventh placed Balwyn who had nothing left to play for during the season other than to build for the next. Pascoe struck first as Britt Thomas placed a shot between the keepers legs before a well worked move saw Diarna Cartwright tap home at the back post to equalise. A similar looking goal saw Rachel Hurlimann also tap home to give Balwyn a slender lead at the half.
Pascoe Vale would draw level early in the half through some good pressure from Krystal McCluskey saw her finish before a long throw from Zoe Lavatt saw Finley Nobbs touch it threw sister Maddy Nobbs legs to restore the lead. Anita Odd then finished from a corner to level proceedings again before she struck one home from distance to again have Pascoe in front. Britt Thomas then got her second of the game to have Pascoe in with a two goal lead and what looked a certain result. But Balwyn would not give up and new found goal machine Amy Johnson would fire home two quick goals to see the game end level and go to a penalty shootout. Despite being in the best position to win the game Balwyn gave it up as Pascoe claimed the win on penalties which is the one that got away for Balwyn.
