Recap
The middle game of the night proved a mouthwatering encounter as Fitzroy took on Pascoe Vale. With Pascoe still fighting for third place it was a must win. Pascoe got off to the perfect start as Anita Odd found the back of the net to give Pascoe the lead they needed as it was clear they had a defensive game plan implemented. It stayed that way until the half time break as the game had plenty of life left in it.
Pascoe got the first of the second half which proved crucial as Marcela Marques finished her one on one chance from a counter attack to double the advantage. After countless chances Fitzroy finally found a way past what looked an impenetrable Maddie Nobbs as Ili Jakab finished into the bottom corner. Soon after Fitzroy were level as Sarah Richardson won and converted a penalty to have her side level. With under a minute remaining on the clock Pascoe found a winner as Marques was left unmarked and finished one on one for the second time in the game to grab all three points for the lions.
