Recap
Brunswick have started their 2016/2017 campaign in brilliant style with two quality wins demonstrating how damaging they can be at their best. Collingwood took only two rounds to get their first win in Series Futsal and show that they can match it with the best.
The First half was a Brunswick domination as they ran riot against Collingwood’s defence. They where moving the ball around much better than Collingwood and leaving their opposition looking flat. Brunswick managed to hammer home four goals in the first half. Collingwood took the few opportunities they had well as they managed to to score twice themselves despite being the second best team for most of the half.
In a similar fashion to last week Collingwood again rallied at the half coming out in the second half with determination. Through their star player Joe Monteleone Collingwood found some fight that they had been unable to muster in the first half and quickly scored twice to equalize the score. From then on the game opened up with the teams going goal for goal. As the final buzzer sounded the scores sat level and six all.
The second penalty shoot out of the night was as exciting as the first with Collingwood shooting first. Both teams scored their first penalties. Collingwood’s second penalty was saved brilliantly by Christos Apostolakis. Brunswick went on to win the shoot out.
