Emerging Series Futsal powerhouse FC Balwyn is aiming to enter a team in the Youth League next season.

Similar to the likes Series Futsal Victoria rivals Pascoe Vale FC, Fitzroy FC and FC Carlton, Balwyn has its sights set on growing its club’s stocks.

Balwyn captain Michele Giotta confirmed his club’s intentions to enter a youth team and hopes to secure enough players to enter the 2016/17 season, starting next month.

“We would like to create a youth team. We are looking out for some good guys who want to listen and learn and be apart of this club,” he told SeriesFutsal.com.

“The season starts in a few weeks, so we would like to have it confirmed as soon as possible. We will look at that over the next few weeks.”

Giotta says that a youth squad will add depth to the team’s overall roster, giving it more options on game day.

“Like most teams, we have people who leave, or injuries or people who have other commitments,” he said.

“At this level, you need a long bench, and a youth team will help with that.”

The Youth and Womens Series Futsal Victoria premierships are played every Wednesday night at the Thomastown Futsal Stadium.

Youth rules stipulate that players must be under the age of 23, with one over-aged player permitted. The goal keepers are also allowed to be over the age of 23.
