With both teams sitting at opposite ends of the ladder Croydon would need to come up with a big upset to topple Prahran. Short of most of their regular stars Prahran were weak, but Croydon were unable to capitalise. Going into the half at 2-0 up Prahran were getting the job done and their captain Vittorio Moretti dragged them over the line once more finishing with a hat trick.

Following Prahran’s win in the first game, Hampton needed a win against Geelong secure themselves the title whilst a win for Geelong would mean they avoid relegation. In a tight first half it was the Hampton boys in their first season who led the way going in 2-1 up at the half and on their way to lifting the trophy. Back out in the second half Geelong looked inspired as they piled on 3 unanswered goals to be leading 4-2. Daniel Grecea hit back a 10m penalty to bring the score back to 4-3 but it was the first gamer Michael Tsiaras in goals who really showed up for Geelong helping them lock their spot in League Two for next season. A loss for Hampton sets up a mouthwatering clash next week as Prahran take on Hampton in the last game of the season, winner claims the title.

After a great start to the season RMIT’s has form has fallen off since the midway point in this season, conversely Richmond has picked up a few points recently to keep them in the hunt at the bottom. Tonight went the way of the form guide as Richmond raced out to a 4-0 lead. RMIT pegged 3 goals back to stay in the game before Richmond put the final nail in the coffin, setting up an all or nothing clash against Croydon next week with the losers being relegated from the league.

After conceding 10 goals to Daniel Langdale in last weeks game Essendon were looking to sure up their defence against 3rd placed Coburg. In a much tighter affair it was a single goal to Essendon that seperated the teams at the half. The second half opened up much more as creative man Ari Jerrems got the ball at his feet as he managed to score 2 and assist a third to secure the win for Essendon.
