Rising Series Futsal team CF Brunswick will welcome back a number of its star players in the final games of the 2016 season.

After sporadic appearances from various Vic Vipers players during the year, Brunswick team captain/manager Antonis Apostolakis expects a number of his star recruits to return to the field, wearing Brunswick’s famous red strip.

Players such as Christos Apostolakis, Kui Mu, Miguel Barrigos, Anthony Brown and Keiran Pates will all become available and are set to play a crucial role in the team’s final two games, plus the Foz Cup – the prestigious one-day end-of-season tournament.

Other Vipers players Adam Cooper and Jonathon Barrientos will play more games for Brunswick next season, but due to their commitments to the Australian national futsal team, will not be available in the short-term.

“Obviously, Adam and JB will be committed to the Futsalroos and won’t play the remainder of this season,” Apostolakis told SeriesFutsal.com.

“But we expect the others to play a key part in our run home and potential Foz Cup run.”

After rising from the State Championship, Brunswick’s goal for this season was to avoid relegation. Not only has the team achieved this – it is knocking on the door of a top three finish.

Currently fourth, Brunswick rescued an empathic draw against Hume FC at Mount Evelyn last Sunday, led by star player Ruz Roslan.

Roslan says that a top three finish is a genuine possibility.

“Our main priority at the start of the season was to avoid relegation – We’ve achieved that, so anything from here is a bonus,” Roslan told SeriesFutsal.com.

“We have a couple of guys coming back next week, some of the Vipers are back, so who knows – maybe we could finish in the top three. We are happy where we are. But we always aim to win every week.”

Brunswick takes on champion side Pascoe Vale this Sunday at the Brunswick Futsal Stadium.
