2016/17 State League One – Round 3:

Hampton Street Futsal Club 4-1 Vermont Futsal Club

With two wins on the trot Hampton FC were looking for a perfect start to the season as they come up against Vermont FC. In a tight start to the game neither team was able to break the deadlock in the first half with both goalkeepers making saves in a defensive affair. The second half did open up when Tim Topali started firing for Hampton. Finishing with a hat trick to his name Topali’s goals turned the game on its head to push past Vermont before a late goal from Grecea topped off the performance as Hampton go 3-0.

2016/17 State League One – Round 3:

Melbourne University Futsal Club 5-5 Mt. Evelyn Futsal Club

MU – T.Zeitlhofer 2, S.Au 2, M.Antachew
MTE – M.Luak 4, M.Ayayi

With Melbourne Uni having their players back from uni games and Mt Evelyn backing up from a fiesty encounter against Melbourne everything was pointing to being a cracking game. It did not disappoint. Mt Evelyn raced out to a 4-1 lead in the first half with Matt Luak playing an incredible game with three goals to his name by the break. A half time team talk from Kerry Hwang fired up the Uni boys as as they fought back to level the game at 4-4 as tension was high with the players fighting tooth and nail for every possession. Another cracking goal from Luak put Mt Evelyn in the lead as it looked like they would hold on for a hard earned 3 points. But not before Sam Au would skip down to the line and save a point for Melbourne Uni in the dying minutes in a ripping game with Au and Luak best on ground.

2016/17 State League One – Round 3:

FC Melbourne Athletic 9-4 Doncaster Futsal Club

MEL – B.Oussayfi 2, M.Ibrahim 2, A.Husseini, B.Wojziek, P.Lin, D.Araujo, M.Rojas
DON – J.Koh 2, N.Hii, A.Lee

The second last game of the night featured the undefeated Doncaster vs the winless Melbourne. Melbourne who had done well at the end of the State League Championship season had struggled in their first two games but had really looked like they had kicked into gear tonight. With a good spread of goalscorers Melbourne raced ahead as Doncaster struggled to catch up. The second half was much more of the same as Doncaster were unable to match the goalscoring of Melbourne as the Athletic secured their first win of the season.

2016/17 State League One – Round 3:

CF South Melbourne 5-5 FC Footscray (Futsal Club)

SM – P.Stasios 3, L.Flechtmann, C.Zabel
FOOT – M.Korsh 2, Meh.Chowdhury, A.Giansanti, H.Shamon

After Melbourne picked up a win only South Melbourne were left at bottom without points. South Melbourne were keeping on track as Peter Stasios came out and scored all of South Melbournes goals to have the scores tied at 3-3 going into the second half. The second half was just as tight as the first but Footscray scored the first two goals to take what would look like a winning lead. South Melbourne hit back late with Zabel and Flechtmann scoring to tie the game at 5-5 and for South Melbourne to pick up their first point of the season.
