2016/17 State League Two – Round 5:

Tullamarine FC 3-2 FC Essendon (Futsal Club)

Essendon pulled to an early lead in the first game of the night, with a goal in the opening minutes of the game. After ten minutes, the score-line found itself at 2-2. After four quick goals the teams settled themselves and a stalemate ensued, neither team wanting to concede a third goal. As the clock ticked over through the second half tension grew, both teams equally desperate to find an opening. The decider came with a minute and a half left on the clock from the boot of Tullamarine’s Cang Pham, powering the ball past the keeper and into the netting. Tullamarine’s fourth win of the season sets them up to maintain their place near the top of the table for the coming weeks.

2016/17 State League Two – Round 5:

Coburg Athletic Futsal Club 3-3 Wollert Futsal Club

COB – N. Amanatidis 2, S. Velluto
WOL – Z. Bazzano 2, D. Barros

The night’s second game, between Coburg and Wollert was a physical one. With both teams giving as good as they were taking and reaching five fouls in either half. Despite the intensity however, the scoreboard didn’t see much action, with the match heading into half-time at one goal apiece. Coburg found the front early in the second half, rushing to a two goal lead. Feeling the pressure, Wollert put their heads down and doubled their attack on the ball, swinging the momentum in their favour. It was attack, attack, attack for Wollert in the final ten minutes, managing to bring back the margin and end the game at a respectable 3-3. Both teams will be taking home a point tonight, though they probably would have preferred all three.

RMIT Futsal Club 9-6 FC Prahran (Futsal Club)

RMIT – R.Seranno 3, Z.Blakemore 2, A.Logozzo 2, L.Phua, A.Ng
PRA – A.Regaelli 6

FC Prahran welcomed back last seasons top goalscorer Naqeeb Tahsin as well as new recruit Andrea Regaelli to the side as they took on an ever improving RMIT. It was a tight first half with both teams testing the keepers multiple times as the score was split at 2-2. The second half was much more free flowing with goals galore in particular Andrea Regaelli who scored every single one of Prahrans 6 goals. But it was a great team performance from the red and black the goals were shared around with Serrano, Loggozo and Ng all playing stellar games to make in 4 wins on the trot.

2016/17 State League Two – Round 5:

Toorak Futsal Club 3-2 North Melbourne Futsal Club

TOO – A.Chheang 2, J.Tanean
NM – A.Koronakos, C.Williams

After beating top of the table Tullamarine to jump into a threeway tie at first place Toorak came into tonights game against North Melbourne continuing their good form. North Melbourne were the team out of the gates first though as goals from Koronakos and Williams stunned Toorak as they took a 2-0 lead in to the break. A half time pep talk boosted Toorak’s level however as they came out harder in the second half with first gamer Anthony Chheang scoring a brace. With Toorak needing to hold onto their 3-2 lead for the last 12 minutes it was goalkeeper Leo Dacuycuy who came up big as multiple saves from him along with a Leo Kfeilati 10m penalty miss sent the 3 points Toorak’s way.
