Series Futsal Victoria organisers are looking at changing the game day formats, starting from the new year.

With more and more crowd interest coming to the league, the SFV committee is considering playing each round over two days – Friday evenings and Sunday afternoons.

Currently all four games are played on Sunday afternoons, however, the either ‘game day’ lasts up to five hours.

Series Futsal CEO Peter Parthimos says that option of splitting each round, is aimed at attracting more fans to enjoy the games

“This season is all about the fans – we want as many people as possible to come and enjoy the wonderful games and entertainment we have on offer,” Parthimos told SeriesFutsal.com.

“For 10 years, we’ve held all four games of our top league on the same day, but we’re finding it hard to keep the fans at the stadium for the duration of the round.

“We feel by splitting it up, fans will get a shorter, condensed sample of futsal and live entertainment. The action will flow fast and the fans will get their money’s worth.

“We haven’t formerly decided on this yet. Maybe will trial it before implementing it proper. We will have to wait and see.”

Parthimos says that he hopes to have a final decision in the next two weeks.
