Carlton captain/manager Chaaban Rajab says that his club’s players are motivated to return to the top league after suffering from the competition’s relegation process at the end of last season.

Carlton endured a horrid Series Futsal premiership last season and was dropped to the State Championship league.

After eight rounds at the second level, Carlton is undefeated, despite a number of close games in the competitive league.

“It hasn’t been as easy as the ladder shows,” Rajab told SeriesFutsal.com.

“There have been some close games where we ran away with it in the end. However the most satisfying wins came against the second placed teams at the time (Western Wolves and Mickleham FC).

“Both games were convincing 8-0 victories in which we dominated completely.”

Despite dropping down a league, Rajab says that the club’s training program has intensified – such is the desire to return to the top level.

“The key to success had been our preparation commitment to the cause,” said Rajab.

“The players at the club are keener than ever to train which is a massive bonus. In a league where not as many teams put the hard work in the lead up to games, having a group who is so willing to train to ensure, we are able to give it our best on game day.”

FC Carlton takes on former Series Futsal club Brimbank FC this Sunday at 8pm at the Brunswick Futsal Oz Stadium.

The Carlton club is also hosting a mixed futsal tournament at the Thomastown Futsal Oz Stadium in Decemeber. CLICK HERE for full details.
