SFV Commission’s verdict

REGARDING:
Altona Knights v Western Wolves
R15, 2018/19 SFV Season – 7 th of December 2018.

INCIDENT:
A scuffle between two players on court spilled into the centre and surrounding car park.
A melee followed which involved the majority of both squads, including some support staff as well
as members of the crowd. This also included unauthorised personal entering the playing arena and
on court whilst the match was in progress during the melee whilst play was stopped.
In total of six members were identified. Match day incident reports, the official’s reports and as well
as game footage and CCTV footage was carefully analysed.
SANCTIONS:
 
Six sanctions targeting those whose actions instigated the conflict have been made, and are outlined
 
below:
 
Kojo Brown: Altona Knights FC (Player)
 
Incident:
1. Bringing the game into disrepute:
2. Physical and aggressive behaviour:
Received a 44 th minute red card, involving an altercation with Lokman Ramadan, Brown sought
Ramadan out, and attempted to fight him on & off the court.
Sanction:
21 Round suspension with a player commission interview and review to follow.
Review concerning return to competitions – Round 15 SFV 2019 Season.
Brown will be suspended from all Futsal Oz & Series Futsal competitions for the duration as
mentioned above with a full review to follow before allowed back.
Brown is a repeat offender, his disciplinary record and behaviour was taken into consideration.
 
Lokman Ramadan: Western Wolves FC (Player)
 
Incident:
1. Bringing the game into disrepute:
2. Physical and aggressive behaviour:
Received a 44 th minute red card, involving an altercation with Kojo Brown, Ramadan forcefully and
aggressively reacting to Brown, and attempted to fight him on & off the court.
 
Sanction:
16 Round Suspension with a player commission interview and review to follow.
Review concerning return to competitions – Round 11 SFV 2019 Season.
Ramadan will be suspended from all Futsal Oz & Series Futsal competitions for the duration as
mentioned above with a full review to follow before allowed back to play.
Ramadan’s long record of good behaviour was taken into consideration.
 
Omar Halwani: Western Wolves FC (supporter)
 
Incident:
1. Bringing the game into disrepute:
2. Physical and aggressive behaviour:
Omar Halwani was not present at the venue for the match, yet he was a major instigator and
aggressor during the post-match misconduct.
Sanction:
21 Round suspension with a member commission interview and review to follow.
Review concerning return to competitions – Round 15 SFV 2019 Season.
Halwani will be suspended from all Futsal Oz & Series Futsal competitions for the duration as
mentioned above with a full review to follow before allowed back.
 
Omar Chandab: Western Wolves FC (President)
 
Incident:
1. Bringing the game into disrepute:
2. Physical and aggressive behaviour:
3. Entering the court whilst game in progress as an unauthorised person.
Omar Chandab was in the stands during the match, leaving his seat to abuse players and referees,
and entering the court during on-field incidents. Chandab was also a major instigator in the post-
match misconduct.
Sanction:
21 Round suspension with a President commission interview and review to follow.
Review concerning to return to competitions – Round 15 SFV 2019 Season.
Chandab will be suspended from all Futsal Oz & Series Futsal competitions for the duration as
mentioned above with a full review to follow before allowed back.
As the president of a Series Futsal Victoria team, Chandab’s efforts to provoke, rather than subdue,
the situation is highly unacceptable.
 
Reuben Danso: Altona Knights FC (Player)
 
1. Bringing the game into disrepute:
2. Physical and aggressive behaviour:
Reuben Danso was a major instigator of the post-match misconduct.
Sanction:
21 Round suspension with a player commission interview and review to follow.
Review concerning return to competitions, Round 15 SFV 2019 Season.
Danso will be suspended from all Futsal Oz & Series Futsal competitions for the duration as
mentioned above with a full review to follow before allowed back.
Danso is a repeat offender, receiving several warnings, his disciplinary record and behaviour was
taken into consideration.
 
Bilal Atik: Western Wolves (Player)
 
1. Bringing the game into disrepute:
2. Physical and aggressive behaviour:
Bilal Atik was an agitator on the court during the match, and an instigator during the post-match
misconduct.
Sanction:
16 Round suspension with a player commission interview and review to follow.
Review concerning to return to competitions – Round 11 SFV 2019 Season.
Atik will be suspended from all Futsal Oz & Series Futsal competitions for the duration as mentioned
above with a full review to follow before allowed back.
Bilal Atik’s long record of good behaviour was taken into consideration.
