Recap
The final match of the night saw two team coming off good performances face up against each other. Fitzroy put in an excellent showing against Pascoe, while Balwyn were coming off a strong win against Ashburton. Balwyn was fielding a full strength team tonight with the likes of Oscar Magrina and Davide Iacovissi returning after a few weeks absence. It was Balwyn who got on the score sheet first as they came out firing. Robert Armellini finished from just inside the area into the bottom right corner. A well worked free kick set play by Fitzroy found Llewelyn Stone in space on the edge of the area on the right and he converted to level the scores. Balwyn were soon back in front, however, as Andrea Zaccone finished Past Aaron Yu from just outside the area. A cheeky flick past Yu from Salvi Michele then saw the score at 3-1 to Balwyn and that was how it would stay as the teams went into half time.
Jackson Shaw pegged one back for Fitzroy after a few minutes into the second half, with a rocket of a strike from the right touch line into the top right corner. Matteo Rocca soon restored Balwyn’s two goal lead with a effort that slipped past Stavros Varvarigos in the Fitzroy goal. Zaccone picked up his second with a toe poke into the bottom right corner to all but wrap up the points for Balwyn, but Adam Galioto would be found at the back post for his first ever Series Futsal goal, to add some respectability to the score line.
